這個詞也保存在部族名稱 Outeniqua 中，意指  「  背著蜂蜜的人們  」 。
幾世紀以來，這些山間部族穿梭在南非花園大道的山林中，懷抱著野生蜂巢與甜香植物如 Honeybush。
